Support
How can you support the PostGIS community and the continued growth and maintenance of this software?
This web site, the documentation, the workshop materials, the video talks, the help people get on online chat and mailing lists, all of this works because members of the PostGIS community step forward and help each other.
The PostGIS community historically holds a small development meeting once a year for core contributors, and the donations we receive via OSGeo help support those events.
The most direct support the PostGIS development community gets is via governments, companies, and NGOs that directly fund the work of a contributor to make the software or the supporting materials better. The following organizations have employed a contributor over the past year.
For paid consulting, support contracts, and hosted PostgreSQL/PostGIS services, use maintained provider directories instead of historical wiki lists:
- OSGeo Service Providers includes providers for OSGeo projects such as PostGIS.
- PostgreSQL Professional Services lists companies offering PostgreSQL consulting and support.
- PostgreSQL Hosting Providers lists managed PostgreSQL hosting providers. Check each provider’s current PostGIS extension availability before choosing a service.
